With Common Sense and Compassion
we will build a more resilient Upcountry.

  • Agricultural Revitalization

Upcountry has been, and can continue to be, the breadbasket of fresh, locally grown, locally raised, nutrient dense, and secure source of nourishment for Maui.

  • Secure Local Economy

We all saw how in a moment, Maui got shut off from the world. This was a call to action for leadership to shift from a vulnerable import-based economy towards a secure locally-based economy.

    Did they hear it?

  • Community Preparedness

Disruptions to business as usual will continue; widespread medical events, international volatility impacting supply chains, severe climate events, economic decline and crisis. It would behoove us to prepare for this, together.

Ultimately, we will take care us. Just like we did in 2020 when leadership didn’t.

  • Enriching our 'Ohana

Those of us who grew up here, remember the quiet simplicity of our childhood. How everyone knew everyone no matter where you went. Where has that gone?

When we come back to ourselves, our families, our kuleana, we will then be able to provide for our children, the community warmth, familiarity, and security that we felt as keiki.

  • Health and Safety

Community Resilience Centers are one example of how we establish regional hubs of safety, survival, mutual aid, education, empowerment, and connection.

New structures of collective care can help us through this period of crisis and healing. Mutual Aid is a way for us to build new social relationships that enrich our lives, and provide genuine security, for all generations and relations.

Through Community Cohesiveness we endure, and thrive, together.
